| King Jammy got boo'd at Lambeth Town Hall last night!
We were all suprised I think by how well King Tubby's played. It was dubs all night with there selections varied and often unusual. Really great selections. He also played his tunes a little longer which gave us a chance to get into the tunes and have a dance. The crowd was really with Tubby's and got very vocal about it later in the night at one point giving Jammy quite a hard time when he was trying to play.
Jammy played great too. Alot of nice Studio Ones and even played Stranger Cole- Rough and Tough (Treasure Isle) to Tubby's Bangarang, but he cut his tunes too short and was also simply less entertaining than Tubby's. Jammy also had Lecturer and Colourman on the mic, which was very welcome as well. He's very funny as well, jumping around like Rodi and gave some great banter. I don't think he should have got boo'd- was a bit embarrassing and rude I thought, as he's a guest in town and such an important guy.
It got real hot in there and I was slaughtered as well. Great atmosphere. Another top night at the town hall. |
