- From the early days, Saxon was never known as a heavy sound! This all changed midway through 1987 when the sound was rebuilt and at least 24 scoop bass boxes were added! Pretty much the same as Java Nuclear! True some badness in the dance, some of the Saxon sections were sabotaged so they only had one speaker stack playing! Still sounded heavier than Coxsone! No Levi or Tippa present! Nuff tracing from Deadly and Simeon. Muscle and Trevor played nuff Frankie Paul specials! Even one dissing Coxsone amongst other sounds! Multi Blind had recently moved from being amongst Coxsone and had joined Saxon sound!
Coxsone sound was on fire this night! Blacker had just landed from incarceration, and didnt even immediately go round the sound! So Gappy Dread played the sound and played one of his best selections that night! Had the dance on fire! Fathead and especially Tenor Fly smashed it! Responded to Deadly and Simeons name calling!
SIR COXSONE-Spliffington, Fathead, Bikey Dread, General Slater, Stevie Culture, Tenor Fly, Ricky Tuffy, Chemist SAXON-Daddy Colonel, Daddy Rusty, Simeon, Multi Blind, Deadly Ranks, Mikey Mclean, Nommey Roots |
