Remember Go Go? Excellent funk/ hip hop hybrid began in Washington in the 70s and stayed unique to the city. I have a few live LPs but have been listenning to them for 20 years and like sound systems and hip hop jams I now understand there are loads of so called PA Tapes of the live shows by bands such as Rare Essence, Trouble Funk and many more. My interest has been rejuvenated through reading the excellent The Beat: Go Go's Fusion Of Funk & Hip Hop by Kip Lornell and Charles C. Stephenson Jr (Billboard Books)
