Rip tapes to the PC and upload is not that hard once you get your gear and programs. This is how I do it

You need to buy a
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-UCA202-U-Control-Silver/dp/B000KW2YEI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1242979112&sr=8-3
and connect it to your tape output with phono leads, plug it into your pc usb port. That's your hardware sorted, now for the software.

Download Audacity- this is for recording the audio to your pc
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
you'll use this to make wav files that can be burned to cd, but are too big to upload, so you also need:

This is used to convert your massive wav file to mp3- you want to reduce it to 192 or 224kbs, for good sound quality that is not too big to upload.

If you have made one 90min file you could upload that just like that. What I often do is to cut the tape in two so each side is sepperate. I also like to make a little file with Notepad or Word where I give information about the tape. I put these in a folder and name the folder what it is- "Saxon: Brixton. 1985 (feat. Supercat)" for example. I now need to to compress or zip the folder so I can send it. To do this right click on the folder and select "send to" and then "compressed folder". If it doesnt work, download the following and then try again:

So now it's zipped you need to upload it. If you use sendspace or rapidshare the link will only be good for a week, so I encourage people to use megaupload ot mediafire as the links last longer- especially if you pay them for an account- which is well worth it if you're doing alot of up/downloading.

hope that's ok. any more questions do ask as I really want to see more people getting their boxes out of the loft to make this a massive archive!
