Has anyone got any tapes from the first UK Ray Symbolic 'tour' in 1980 apart from the Bali Hai - vs. Frontline or the Northampton 3rd Aug 80 - vs. Frontline?
I taped two C90's of the Bali Hai dance (Mon 27th Oct 80) with Symbolic, Shaka and Coxsone but it's unlistenable due to massive distortion. I don't know if it's because the levels were too high on my tape but I remember it was very loud that night with screaming speaker boxes. There were many others there that night with cassette recorders so maybe they had more luck. Ranking Joe was on superb form until the turntable broke down. 'Wailing Rudy', 'Oh What A Feeling', 'Trodding Through The Jungle' etc. Coxsone played the cuts to 'From Creation' and Shaka played 'Shaka The Great Warrior' and 'Kunta Kinte'.
