| To post a tape (How I do it) To upload go to mediafire.com. Or use Divshare or Rapidshare. (To avoid getting dead links then please don't use sendspace). You have to sign up for a free account and then you can start uploading files from your PC. If it is a folder then it is best to use winzip or winrar to zip them up and then upload the zip. Now you are ready to post. Find the right forum. If your tape is Saxon v Unity, go to the S section and click in the Saxon forum (clashes), press New Post. Put the title as Saxon v Unity and give the venue and date. Hide TagsNow you need to add your link, first you must use " hide tags" to prevent people just coming here, not joining or contributing or even saying thanks. Use this code: [hide] and then the link and close the code by putting [/hide ***] without the ***, but if I'd done that here you wouldn't have seen it right! lol so for eg. : [hide] http://www.mediafire.com/listen/obo951rfj3nfixi/01_SAXON_(VS_UNITY)_-_1986.mp3 [/hide - and then close with a ] If you're unsure still let Mr Energizer or I know and we'll sort you out, no problem How to title your postHere is an example of a posthttps://soundtapes.forumotion.com/t2583-rodigan-luv-injection-vs-matterhorn-mighty-crown-stratford-east-london-2006#13196The title shows clearly the sound, then venue, then date as best the poster could do. If you're posting a tape that has both sounds on it such as Rodigan v Black Scorpio: Hootenannay, Brixton. September 2010 this would go in the Rodigan forum and also the Black Scorpio forum, where title should be changed to Black Scorpio v Rodigan: Hootenannay, Brixton. September 2010 How to download a tapeWhen you find a tape you want to download post a message of thanks or a comment in the thread and now you can see the link- magic! Cut and paste the link into your browser. How to burn to CDThe mp3 may be one long (60 or 90 min file) or split up. if it's split up you can drag them into I Tunes and burn them to CD (if it's a 90 min tape you'll need two cds, one per side). If it's not split up you can open it in Audacity by right clicking on it and selecting (open with audacity) then cut and paste out of it. A quick way to split an mp3 file is with mp3 splitter. The only problem with this if it's a 90 min tape is you cannot acurately split the tape between side a and side b like I like to. It could be better if people uploaded tapes with each side a seperate file, as long as zipped together same way. What do people think about that? So then open I Tunes and click "file" and then "new playlist" then drag the files into it and burn to CD. |

Thanks download Switch. Open the CD from your my computer, highlight all the tracks and drag to switch. Set switch to convert the files to 224kbs mp3 and click convert. a minute later you'll have it all. Put the mp3s in a folder and add a notebook document giving details for the session. Compress the file and upload- mediafire looks like the best one to use. Do this for a few cds so you can make a nice contribution to site and e mail me and I'll un-ban you and we can get you sorted out with Valued Contributor status that all members here need to get so they don't get deactivated. Any problems get in touch cheers |

I'm sorry I havn't heard of this problem before. Try logging in at https://soundtapes.forumotion.com rather than soundtapes.co.uk all I can think of except you could send me the link and details and I could make the post on your behalf. cheers |

| Reuploading some of my earlier uploads, using various filesharing websites. If any of them are not allowed, please feel free to delete the links. I just feel any links that work are better than nothing! |
